My quest to make money online started with the desire to work at home, just the same as millions of other people with the same idea. We all want the same things, happiness, success, time, money....sometimes all we lack is how to get more of these things. In my experience, the path to all the great things in life starts with knowledge. The more you grow as a person, the more prosperity and success come your way. If all you focus on is running on the rat wheel, you will never get out of the cage. I believe that we have the potential to achieve whatever we want. The best quote I have ever heard is, "Our background may influence who we are, but we are responsible for what we become". If you are miserable and broke, it is your own fault if you stay that way. To want more out of life, expect more from yourself. Sitting around watching wasted hours of useless television, hoping you win the lottery someday will take you to the same place you have arrived to so far: Nowhereland. Speaking of the lottery, you have a much greater chance of being struck by lightning(1 in 30,000) than ever winning the lottery(1 in 15 million).
I am not writing this to scam you into buying anything. I am writing it as a guide for a newbie, someone who is clueless like I used to be. This is about my personal experience, what I have learned, and guidelines to keep you on the right track.
As of today, the keyphrase for "make money online" in Google search produced 166 million results. A little on the overrated side. How many are legit? How many are a scam? Well, first that all depends on what you are looking for. If your mission is to find the quickest way to become rich without lifting a finger, hmmm.... most likely a scam. I am yet to come across a way to generate millions without doing an ounce of work. If you have any information proving otherwise, by all means, email me your facts. I have received thousands(no lie) of emails trying to sell me on another program to make money. I get so irritated with every advertisement that starts off, "Dear Friend," - I do not know you, do not try to seem harmless by calling me your "friend". For me, that one word is the last one I see before I click out of there. I was beginning to think that the only way to make money online was to sell a program about how to make money online. And seriously, how many are actually making money, and how many are bluffing?
The best advice I can give to you here is to do your research. There have been several times when I bought a useless ebook or program that never provided any useful information, or was too complicated to understand for someone like me who had zero knowledge on how to do anything on the Internet other than shop. I have learned to be skeptical and avoid anything that sounds too good to be true. However, if it is something that I am interested in, the next step is making sure it is legitimate. Find a review, an article, some kind of feedback from somewhere other than the person who is trying to sell you their product.
Before this website existed, I did not have a clue on how to create a website, what a blog was, or how the Internet even worked. I knew how to book a flight, find information, and how to shop on ebay. Sometimes I would browse books about website building at Barnes&Noble, but as soon as the whole HTML talk would start, my concentration and interest was lost. I just did not get it. In my quest for learning, there are two resources that have been more useful to me than any other. What I have learned from the combination of the two has educated me to where I am at today, and knowing what I know now, I would have paid triple.
The first is a book called "The Everything Blogging Book"
by Aliza Sherman Risdahl. I love this book because it is simple and easy. It can teach someone who has never even heard of a blog how to create one, what all of the options are, and even how to advertise. A must for beginners. It can have the reader creating their own blog within 15 minutes of browsing through the book.
The second, (and is the best program I have ever found), is The Rich Jerk Ebook. Definitely more advanced than the blogging book, but easy to understand, filled with highly useful information, and no fluff. Before I read the Rich Jerk book, I had never before heard of affiliate marketing, adwords, adsense, SEO, PPC.... so it was all a new world for me. This ebook teaches you about all of the above, plus how to set up a website, how to make money from several different options, how to advertise, as well as awesome, legitimate resources and wholesale suppliers. This guy has made millions from the Internet. Who better to learn from!
My website that I have created using the techniques I have learned from these two priceless resources is below, as well as the links to both of these resources.
There are many ways to obtain financial freedom. Whether it be through Real Estate, Stocks, Online Marketing, MLM, your own business, or whatever- It is going to require effort. We all have unique talents, and no two people are the same. What are you good at? What do you love? What excites you? Let's start there.
If we look into the lives of successful people, they are following their strengths and doing what they love. Bill Gates loves computers. Madonna loves to sing. Donald Trump loves Real Estate. Kobe Bryant loves to play Basketball. Find what it is you have to contribute to the world, and make it happen. What you become is a result of what you do today.
